The Verve score Top Five entry on UK singles chart

The Verve have scored a UK Top Five hit with their return single 'Love Is Noise' tonight (August 10).


The band's first single in ten-spot years is the number one track to be taken from the group's young album 'Forth', out on August 25.

Katy Perry tops the chart, her single 'I Kissed A Girl' ousting Kid Rock's 'All Summer Long' from the top after simply one week.


The Top Ten is:

3. Dizzee Rascal ft Calvin Harris - 'Dance Wiv Me'

4. Script - 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved'

5. The Verve - 'Love Is Noise'

7. Noah And The Whale - '5 Years Time'

8. Ne-Yo - 'Closer'

9. Rihanna - 'Disturbia'

10. Basshunter - All I Ever Wanted'



In the album graph, ABBA's 'Gold' compilation, in the beginning released in 1992, stays at the top, interest group in the band having been reignited by the success of the 'Mamma Mia!' film.
